Transforming Leadership
Transforming Leadership was a coaching and leadership programme that I helped shape alongside the brillliant team at Access All Areas. When I joined the organisation as chair I knew that I didn’t want to do this on my own but alongside one of the artist associates. How lucky was I to work and still work alongside my co-chair, Charlene Salter.

Tunku tastic
I’m in love with SyncingSpace.org and even though we’ve only just started, this beautiful image and the person portrayed, Tunku Abdul Rahman is just an example of the learning and the joy this project brings. This artwork is a section of a larger work celebrating Malaysian Independence Day by the brilliant artist: Izzati Shahrin, one […]

Syncing Space
On the back of some research into Sync and the take up for our programmes of work, i wanted to see if leadership learning for learning disabled/autistic visual artists might be best delivered through an accessible Sync Shorts online arts residency. In January 2025, we built a new web platform Syncing Space to share the leadership thinking and showcase the resulting artwork from our 4 brilliant artists.

Battered
Yesterday i had gyoza buried in their cooking batter. It was a bit of an effort to divide the spoils and chopsticks didn’t make it easier but more desperate with those I was sat with. A bit of a bun fight. Made me strangely think about how stuck we become within the systems we have […]

Slow skipping
I’m in a call, right now, writing this and listening to a group of amazing individuals working as coaches, therapists, facilitators, architects and artists who have been meeting together for 5 years. We’re called the Fallout group (i’m so proud of us) and we formed when Covid hit and we quickly realised that we wanted […]

Weave
I first encountered Tadek Beutlich’s work at Watermans Arts Centre in Hounslow nearly 20 years ago and have since then been an avid fan. So when my friend Steph Fuller who is Director at Ditchling Museum shared that she and her team were curating Tadek’s work at the venue this Spring, it felt like a […]

Enquiry
A Muskian call for an enquiry has unsettled the masses in this first week but for me, has taken me back to one of my most resonant memories at the end of 2024, seeing Expendable by Emteaz Hussain at the Royal Court. My lovely friend Nazli Tabatabai-Khatambakhsh was dramaturg on the play and hosted a […]

Slip Sliding
There’s childish delight and eerie hush, seeing snow fall outside the window. This first wonderment is swiftly followed by thoughts of horrendous slip sliding injury scenarios. It reminds me that I need to take small steps or just not step out at all. Take it easy, stay inside, give in to naps. All that. A […]

Powerlessness
In 2023, Sync Associate, Alia Alzougbi and I and our colleagues in the Arabi region were busy shaping our Sync Arabi programme, working on the logistics as part of this to bring 4 Palestinian artists into Jordan for the week. Between us, we had a degree of power and influence to make this happen. In […]
